TenAsys Extends Reach into Industrial Control Applications with Real-time Support of Hilscher Communications Devices

Beaverton, Oregon – August 29, 2003 – TenAsys supports standards based industrial control bus networks with the release of a new real time communications driver. This technology interfaces all TenAsys real-time operating system products with the Hilscher CIF line of industrial control I/O for PC based platforms. TenAsys customers’ real time applications now have direct and deterministic interaction with thousands of industry standard devices connected via AS-Interface, CANopen, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet, Interbus, ModBus Plus, and PROFIBUS networks.

TenAsys selected the CIF series from Hilscher because of their market leadership and support in PC hosted industrial control interfaces. The CIF bus mastering products provide dual port memory which when combined with TenAsys RTOS technology, supports high performance shared memory and mailbox mechanisms to communicate with networked industrial control clients.
