TenAsys Adds iWin32 API to INtime Software Easing Migration to a Robust and Reliable Real-time Windows Platform

Beaverton, OR – November 24, 2003 – TenAsys Corporation releases for immediate availability the iWin32 API for their INtime real time extension. This programming interface is a new INtime subset of the popular Microsoft Windows WIN32 API and associated real-time extension functions.

The iWin32 API was designed to assist customers already familiar with the world’s most popular Microsoft programming interface to write time critical code to execute with hard real time determinism on stand-alone, or Windows hosted PC platforms. Additionally, existing real time code previously written for kernel mode operation can be ported without rewrite to execute as user mode code with the INtime operating system. Using INtime software with the iWin32 API substantially improves reliability, extensibility and overall eases the effort supporting and developing real time Windows applications.

INtime software’s iWin32 API includes a complete subset of Win32 and associated real time extension function calls required to make real time applications run on a Windows hosted platform. Though INtime features its own real time API, the new iWin32 API provides familiar Win32 constructs including: Processes, Threads, Mutexes, Critical sections, Semaphores, Events, Structured exception handling (SEH), File and interrupt handling, Shared memory, and Timers.

INtime software is a real time extension to the Windows NT, 2000 and XP desktop and embedded operating systems. INtime is the only real time extension solution which is itself a fully protected mode RTOS allowing these Windows operating systems to execute on the same PC platform. Unlike competitive solutions based on kernel mode driver models, INtime isolates the real time environment in its own hardware task and executes all the associated real time applications in user mode space. This combination delivers the most reliable platform for mission critical designs requiring real-time performance, with Windows functionality.

More information on INtime software and the iWin32 API can be found on the TenAsys website at http://www.tenasys.com Details of the iWin32 API along with a porting guide and sample code can be found in the resource section of the website.
