Special INtime Licensing Available to Educational Institutions

TenAsys supports real-time Windows development using INtime in university and college environments with special educational licensing policy.

Beaverton, OR – February 1, 2005 – In recognition of the importance of real-time Windows as a teaching tool by colleges and universities throughout the world, TenAsys Corporation has established a special educational discount licensing policy that allows for the use of the INtime RTOS extension in classroom and instructional laboratory environments. Special licensing is also available to support the use of real-time Windows in those research projects sponsored by educational institutions.

The version of INtime software licensed for educational use is 100% functionally equivalent to the most recently released standard product and can be used with the Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows XP Embedded operating systems. INtime software runs on virtually any standard uniprocessor PC architecture hardware available today, future versions will support all standard multiprocessor PC architecture systems. INtime projects are edited, compiled, and debugged using the standard Microsoft Visual Studio .NET development environment (which must be purchased separately). Real-time APIs are provided to easily integrate real-time application code into an integrated Windows real-time application. For detailed information regarding all TenAsys real-time products please visit the products section of the TenAsys web-site.

For additional information regarding the licensing of INtime software for educational purposes please contact TenAsys directly.

About TenAsys and INtime

INtime Real Time Extensions for Windows is a fully featured RTOS derived from iRMX. Applications written for the INtime RTOS execute with guaranteed determinism as fully-protected user-mode processes in concurrence with the Microsoft Windows operating system on standard PC hardware. Because real-time application code executes in user-mode the INtime environment is immune to application faults that crash kernel-mode driver solutions.

Using the INtime real-time extension for Windows, designers can reduce the cost of implementing computer-based control systems by utilizing x86-based PC hardware and Microsoft Windows software. INtime software combines the benefits of the Windows operating system — standard APIs, networking, user interface, and development environment — with a proven, highly reliable, real-time kernel designed for critical applications.
