TenAsys integrates USB host support into its INtime real-time OS for Windows based on Jungo's USBware embedded protocol stack

Developers can now implement custom USB drivers for real-time Windows applications from any INtime-based application.

Beaverton, Oregon and San Jose, California – August 6, 2007 –  TenAsys Corporation (www.tenasys.com), a leading provider of real-time OS software technology and tools, and Jungo Ltd. (www.jungo.com), a leading provider of embedded USB software solutions, today announced that Jungo’s USBware Host Stack has been successfully integrated into the latest version of the TenAsys® INtime® real-time OS for Windows®. The modular and OS-agnostic architecture of Jungo USBware insures quick integration into any environment, allowing TenAsys to independently and quickly add USB host support to its product.

The INtime RTOS and Jungo USB Host Stack include support for all three standard USB host controller interfaces: OHCI, UHCI and EHCI. Through this USB stack, INtime real-time applications can utilize USB 1.1 and 2.0 interfaces for direct access to USB peripheral devices. Sample drivers for multi-channel serial, general-purpose digital and analog I/O, and other devices are included. By having an independent USB host stack running directly on the INtime RTOS, real-time applications utilizing USB I/O can operate independently of Windows, for increased reliability and determinism.

"Including the Jungo USB stack as a component of INtime ensures that our real-time customers can easily incorporate standard USB connectivity in their real-time Windows designs," said Kim Hartman, TenAsys VP of Sales and Marketing. "TenAsys has always been recognized for delivering innovative solutions that extend real-time capabilities. The use of USB peripheral I/O in real-time systems is one more way we are helping embedded developers stay ahead of the competitive curve."

USBware™ offers a complete, high quality, small footprint and industry compliant embedded USB Host/Device/On-The-Go (OTG) software protocol stack. Designed to suit the diversity of hardware platforms, USBware's modular architecture encompasses three software layers: low level controller driver (HAL), USB Core, and Class Drivers (Mass Storage, HID, Serial, CDC, Audio, Video, MTP and others), all extendable to support additional custom devices. Jungo's USBware is provided in ANSI C source code, with extensive documentation and support services, and royalty-free distribution rights.

"We are excited to announce this new successful customer integration," said Oren Manor, USBware Product Manager. "USBware's architecture, optimized for embedded solutions, allows INtime developers to communicate with USB peripherals from within INtime applications further strengthening the INtime solution and facilitating the need to transfer data from and to USB hardware components."
