TenAsys Delivers Multi-OS Solutions for Multi-core PC Systems

TenAsys virtualization software delivers real-time application responsiveness and reliability in a multi-OS environment, and provides embedded developers the tools to partition I/O resources between multiple guest operating systems.

Nürnberg, Germany – February 20, 2008 –  TenAsys Corporation (www.tenasys.com), a leading provider of real-time OS and virtualization software, announced at the Embedded World Conference support for using multiple operating systems (OS) in a multi-core environment. This includes guest operating systems, both general-purpose and real-time, like Linux, Windows CE, QNX, VxWorks and other legacy real-time operating systems (RTOS). Demonstrations of a dual-core system running Windows XP with QNX and Windows XP with Windows CE are to be shown in the TenAsys stand, located in Hall 11 at booth 409.

With the TenAsys virtualization system, developers can combine the real-time responsiveness of existing real-time applications, such as those written for the INtime RTOS or an RTOS such as QNX, with the advantages of running general-purpose guest operating systems on the same multi-core processor. A key benefit is the ability to preserve proven intellectual property by leveraging existing code, while utilizing TenAsys real-time virtualization technology to enable the addition of new features with a general-purpose operating system.

"TenAsys continues to find new and interesting ways to apply virtualization technology to address the requirements of embedded systems," said Kim Hartman, TenAsys VP of Marketing and Sales. "We want our users to get the most out of embedded PC systems by decreasing development time as well as increasing the integration of multiple components."
