TenAsys® Announces INtime Support for New Intel® Atom™ Processors

Beaverton, Oregon — March 2, 2010 — TenAsys Corporation (www.tenasys.com), a leading provider of real-time OS and virtualization software, announces that its INtime® for Windows® OS is being demonstrated on a range of Intel® platforms this week at the Embedded World 2010 show in Nuremberg, Germany.

The latest series of Intel® Atom processors for embedded applications includes both single-core hyper-threaded chips and dual-core processors. As members of Intel’s embedded product line, these processors are designed to have long production lifetimes.

“TenAsys’ real-time operating system and embedded virtualization technologies are aligned with the new Intel® Atom™ processors supported for embedded,” said Kim Hartman, TenAsys Vice President of Marketing and Sales. “We’re excited to see the extension and proliferation of dual-core Intel® processors — including the Intel® Atom™ processor D510 — providing different cost/performance options for use in embedded and time-critical applications.”

TenAsys’ INtime RTOS runs alongside Microsoft Windows on Intel® architecture processors, providing deterministic support for real-time processes while Windows handles human-directed tasks.

“It is important that deterministic real-time support is available for our embedded customers who also want to run Windows,” said Jonathan Luse, director of marketing, Intel Low Power Products Division. “The multi-threaded properties of the new Intel® Atom™ processor N450, D410 and D510 are embedded in the hardware and enable developers to consolidate platforms and run both real-time and general-purpose operating systems on low-power platforms — a true breakthrough for many industrial and control applications.”
